Although I have been visiting the Cyclades islands for years, my first visit to Milos took me completely by surprise. Why? Because everybody talked about Mykonos, Santorini, Paros and Koufonissia but no one discussed about Milos.
It was a friend who convinced me to go there, claiming that I would find the best beaches in Greece. And he was so right!
The entrance to the port of Milos in quite impressive. Actually, it is the biggest “natural” port in the Aegean Sea. The island itself forms a big protected basin that hosts the port of Adamas, the main port of Milos.
At first glance, the island seems barren. Its beauty lies in its truly amazing beaches, formed among white and red cliffs, with white sand, grey sand or pebbles and small traditional beachfront taverns.
The colours of Milos are nowhere else to be found. Its volcanic past and its unique rock formations are a true wonder of nature.
